Eldercare with us involves a holistic approach – nurturing the mind, body, spirit, and environment of those we care for. We prioritize our clients' needs and expect our caregivers to embody excellence and devotion.

Our team includes certified and non-certified companions, licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and registered nurses (RNs) who desire a more personal, one-on-one caregiving role.

Caregiver Applicant FAQ

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • What happens after I apply?

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you for a phone conversation. If you're a potential fit, we'll schedule you for an in-person interview.

  • What are the next steps if I do well in the interview?

If you excel in the interview, we'll be able to offer you employment. Upon acceptance, we check your references, employment history, and background, then proceed with paperwork and schedule you for orientation.

  • Is there a probationary period?

Yes, there's a 90-day probationary period starting when you are assigned to a client.

  • Do I need to work 40 hours a week?

No, work hours are flexible. We accommodate various schedules, including weekends and nights, from 8 hours a week to more. Availability affects client assignment frequency.

  • Can I be guaranteed 40 hours a week?

No, client assignments depend on our current needs. Like any business, we experience fluctuating busy and slow periods.

  • I’m experienced but not certified. Is that okay?

Absolutely. We value life experience and a positive attitude. Certification is not always necessary, and you'll benefit from our training programs and mentorship from experienced caregivers.

  • What if the client doesn’t like me?

We strive for a great match between caregivers and clients. Don't take it personally if a client feels you're not the right fit; preferences often come down to personal feelings. We respect these requests from clients.

  • I’m not confident in writing care notes.

Don’t worry, all new employees attend a workshop on this as part of their orientation. We'll teach you how to write professional care notes.

  • Can I work only as a companion?

Yes, that's fine. Many clients only need companionship. However, many caregivers choose to learn more complex skills over time to stay with their clients as their needs evolve. This is entirely up to you.
